BAY AREA MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE

CONFERENCE POLICIES

All delegates of BAMUNC agree to abide by BAMUNC policies!

Registration

Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Both school delegations and independent delegates are eligible to register. Committee assignments are conducted on a rolling-in basis. Head delegates are notified of committee allocations within seven days of registration completion and payment.

Awards

BAMUNC rewards delegates who excel in committee by the discretion of the chairs. Awards are disclosed at the closing ceremony. Delegates who turn in position papers (before and after the deadline) are eligible to win Honorable Mention, Outstanding Delegate, and Best Delegate. These awards are evaluated by quality committee performances: resolutions, amendments, speeches, and diplomacy skills. Delegates who submit position papers prior to the deadline are eligible for Best Research.

Plagiarism

BAMUNC maintains a strict zero-tolerance plagiarism policy. Academic honesty is vigilantly checked. If plagiarism (including the use of artificial intelligence) is detected in position papers and resolutions, delegates responsible will:

In severe cases, school delegations will be banned from all BAMUNC conferences.

Committee

All resolutions must be written in committee. Prewritten resolutions are unacceptable. If chairs suspect violations in the conference policies, delegates will be penalized accordingly. 

Electronics are not provided by BAMUNC. However, the use of technology is subject to the chair's discretion. 

Dress Code

BAMUNC requests that delegates come dressed in Western Business Attire.

Please dress appropriately and professionally. 

COVID-19

BAMUNC 2024 will be in-person and adhere to all CDC guidelines. More details to come in the weeks prior to conference day.
